Duplex steel UNS S32205 is a nitrogen enhanced duplex SS developed to combat common corrosion problems encountered with the 300 series stainless steels. In the annealed condition, Duplex steel UNS S32205 Seamless Pipes contains approximately 40-50% ferrite. Often referred to as the work horse grade 2205 is the mostly used in the duplex family of stainless steels. The advantage of a duplex structure is that it combines the favorable qualities of a ferritic alloy with those of an austenitic alloy. Usage of 2205 Duplex stainless steel should be limited to temperatures below 600 degree F. The exposure of elevated temperature can embrittle the 2205 stainless steel material. These pipes have rugged construction, high tensile strength, better durability and sturdiness. The melting point of these seamless pipes is 1350 degree Celsius whereas its elongation is 15 %.
